Opvolger Nintendo Wii

De president van Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, heeft bekendgemaakt dat de opvolger van de succesvolle Nintendo Wii  al in de maak is. "We are always preparing for the next hardware," aldus Iwata. "We are under development. … But the hardware is a kind of box that consumers reluctantly buy in order to play our games."

"Every hardware needs some revolutionary features. This time around, it happened to be we had a revolutionary user interface. Will it be the same for the next generation? I really can't tell.
It's natural for the current customer to expect Nintendo is going to once again do something different. If the people are expecting so many different things from Nintendo, it's going to be difficult for us to go beyond that expectation again."

  • Is dit nieuws? Het lijkt me toch niet meer dan logisch dat je als consolefabrikant telkens bezig bent met nieuwe ontwikkelingen?

    Misschien zijn ze toch bezig met het idee van de Nintendo ON. Een Virtual Reality helm, door fans bedacht voordat de Wii werd gepresenteerd.

  • Wat mij betreft mogen ze hun gang gaan! Ze hebben de afgelopen maanden leuke drukwerk orders bij ons geplaatst!

  • Ben als Nintendo-fan heel benieuwd waarmee ze gaan komen. Tijdens de ontwikkeling van de WII zijn er technieken en apps ontwikkeld die ze (nog) niet hebben doorgevoerd. Met meer mediaplayer-toepassingen en een betere grafische kaart hebben we die meest volledige console :) PLayability rules ":)
