Google heeft zojuist de Google+ iPhone App gelanceerd in iTunes. Enkele blogs in de VS koppen dat dit de Google+ App is waar we allemaal op hebben zitten wachten. Dat lijkt me eerder aan de gebruiker die daar zelf over moet beslissen. Vic Gundotra, opperchief Social Media bij Google bracht het nieuws zelf naar buiten, natuurlijk in stijl via Google+.
Volgens Gundotra kan het alleen even duren voordat de App overal zichtbaar is of in de zoekresultaten voorkomt. De App biedt wat functies die via het Web niet beschikbaar zijn zoals Huddles, een groepsmessaging systeem dat je de mogelijkheid biedt om te chatten met je circles. Helaas maakt Google nog wel een verschil met de Android App, zo kunnen iPhone App gebruikers geen foto’s uploaden. Waarom Google deze functie heeft weg gelaten is niet duidelijk!
De nieuwe Google+ iPhone App is beschikbaar voor iPhone 3G, 3GS en iPhone 4 en werkt met iOS 3.1 of hoger. De App werkt niet op iPad of iPod devices.
UPDATE : Punit Soni (Google) We discovered an issue with the version of the iPhone Google+ App that was on the App Store. When we launched, the App Store started serving a previous test version of the App which didn’t have the stability and fixes that the latest version had. It started serving the correct version a little later. If you downloaded within the first 1 hour 40 mins, you may have downloaded the older test version.
