De Emmy-nominaties zijn bekendgemaakt en de prestigieuze televisieprijzen beloven veel winst voor Shogun en Fallout. Die hebben de meeste nominaties binnengeharkt: 25 nominaties voor de Disney+-serie over Japan en 17 stuks voor Amazon Prime’s Fallout.
Shogun krijgt in ieder geval nog 2 seizoenen dus we kunnen er nog lang van genieten. Ook van Fallout is nu een tweede seizoen in de maak. Fallout is een grote favoriet op onze redactie. Het verhaal van een dochter die haar hele leven in een ondergrondse kluis spendeert met andere mensen en haar vermiste vader bovengronds moet gaan zoeken in een wereld die ongeveer 360 graden anders is dan wat ze gewend is, is erg tof gemaakt. Het ziet er mooi uit, het is erg trouw aan de videogames waarop het gebaseerd is.
We zijn ook blij om te zien dat Netflix’ Baby Reindeer op nominaties kan rekenen. Het verhaal over een man die zowel seksueel misbruikt werd als gestalkt is op zo’n goede manier gemaakt, dat die van ons wel een Emmy mag winnen. Maar goed, er zitten heel veel geweldige producties onder de nominaties. Het is zeker de moeite waard even door de lijst te gaan: wie weet zie je nog iets wat je eens een kans zou moeten geven.
