Na 3 jaar is de PS3 toch gehacked

Nadat de console al meer dan 3 jaar op de markt is, is de Playstation 3 nu toch 'eindelijk' gehacked. Zo is te lezen op Arstechnica. De bekende iPhone hacker George Hotz, aka "GeoHot", is de eerste die het is gelukt. Maar wat dit gaat betekenen voor de PS3 modding community is nog onduidelijk.

"I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor," zo schreef hij op zijn blog. "In other words, I have hacked the PS3."

"3 jaar, 2 maanden en 11 dagen...dat is een behoorlijk veilig systeem," voegde hij er nog aan toe. Hotz schrijft verder dat hij nog niet van plan is ook maar iets te onthullen. "There's a lot more to come."
