Normaalgesproken bestaat de lesstof op een universiteit niet uit het spelen van games. Maar in Berkeley denken ze daar wat anders over.
Aan de Universiteit in Californië is het mogelijk om colleges te volgen waarin StarCraft centraal staat. De colleges duren zo’n 14 weken en er zullen verschillende aspecten van RTS gaming behandelen.
Even werd gedacht aan een HOAX maar dit is door een student ontkracht: “Sorry to prove you wrong, but this is actually a course. Had you done your research a bit more thoroughly, you would have discovered that this indeed is not taught by a professor“.
“It is a student-led, professor-approved course. It’s merely hype that makes everyone think that this is a professor-taught course.
Every other site seems to skim over the fact that it is a student-taught course. I’m a current student at UCB, so feel free to question me about this. That, and I’m a friend of the course facilitator, so I’m rather certain that this is NOT a hoax.”
