Zes dagen nadat Megan Fox een Twitter account had aangemaakt, vraagt de actrice, die definitief doorbrak met de film Transformers, zich af waarom ze berichten aan het versturen is via de dienst. Ze is gestopt met tweeten sinds 9 januari, en haar laatste tweet is:
Haar #WhatIsThePoint vraag genereerde veel antwoorden van haar bijna 280k volgers. Mashable pikte er een paar uit:
- "you gotta start following people to get it. It’s about discovery, connection, etc."
- "you keep followers informed of what you're up to in as much detail as you choose"
- "Seeking validation and pretending your thoughts have meaning. Duh."
Op Facebook, waar haar Fanpage richting de 40 miljoen likes gaat, schrijft ze:
"Some of you may, or may not have noticed by now that my Twitter account has been shut down... I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly... but as it turns out I still hate it. Love you guys but I will just never be that girl. Facebook is as much as I can handle."
