Yahoo heeft een testversie uitgebracht van een gepersonaliseerde zoekdienst: My Yahoo Search. Gebruikers kunnen nu de gewenste zoekresultaten beter vinden, ordenen en delen met anderen. Met de zoekdienst kan men eigen mappen aanmaken, zoekresultaten sorteren in persoonlijke categorieen en bewaarde resultaten als favorieten mailen naar anderen. Op de computer bewaarde zoekresultaten kunnen online getoond worden, men kan websites blokkeren of er persoonlijke notities 'aanhangen'. 'Dit wordt het fundament voor je eigen persoonlijke web,' stelt Eckart Walther, directeur product management van Yahoo Search.

Eerder dit jaar bracht grote concurrent Google ook een bèta uit van een gepersonaliseerde zoekdienst. Gebruikers kunnen bepaalde zoekresultaten zwaarder laten wegen dan andere, afhankelijk van hun opgegeven persoonlijk profiel. My Yahoo! Search beta provides consumers with the ability to:
