MySpace, s'werelds grootste social network totdat ze in China of India dit ook ontdekken natuurlijk, spamt er tegenwoordig behoorlijk op los.

Tenminste na het aanmaken van een MySpace account met als doel vooral te zien wat er nu echt "so hot" aan is ontvang ik met grote regelmaat uitnodigingen om aan webcamsessies deel te nemen. En dat zou alleen maar kunnen binnen MySpace als degene die je uitnodigt een account heeft.

Alle links in de mail tot en met de privacy link gaan keurig naar MySpace waardoor het ogenschijnlijk allemaal wel save is, behalve natuurlijk de slimme redirect op de inventatie.

"At MySpace we care about your privacy. We have sent you this notification to facilitate your use as a member of the MySpace.com service." .

Hoe ze het doen? Volgens de SEO specialists van Black Hat op deze wijze: They get around the myspace spam filter by not sending the same message to everyone; they use white on white text. You can see it if you highlight the text in the message. It seems they randomly vary the white on white text.
