Google Earth view nu in Google Maps

Google Earth view is nu beschikbaar in Google Maps. Een functie die door Google is ontworpen om de kloof tussen de populaire kaarttoepassing en Google Earth te overbruggen.

De nieuwe "view modus" - beschikbaar voor iedereen die Google Earth geinstalleerd heeft - is een opmerkelijke volgende stap voor de applicatie en biedt nu dus "imagery, terrain and cityscapes" in 3D-perspectief. In wezen ondersteunt Google Maps nu multi-dimensionale "world discovery" op zo'n beetje dezelfde manier als Google Earth dat doet.

"Earth view offers a true three-dimensional perspective, which lets you experience mountains in full detail, 3D buildings, and first-person dives beneath the ocean", aldus Product Manager Peter Birch in een blog post. "The motion is fluid, and you can see the world from any viewpoint."
