Microsoft heeft laten weten dat toekomstige applicaties in de Windows Mobile Marketplace die al door de gebruiker gedownload zijn naar zijn telefoon, gewoon achteraf door de softwaregigant verwijderd kunnen worden.
Als er in Apple's App Store of Google's Android Market een applicatie verwijderd wordt dan kan iedereen die de App al gedownload heeft deze gewoon blijven gebruiken. Al heeft Apple wel een "Kill Switch" voor eventueel schadelijke software.
"Windows Mobile app store is worse than Apple App store because developers need to pay $99 for only 5 app submissions. Additional money is ti be payd for more submissions and for submissions to more countries. Apple's App store has one fixed flat fee of $99 for everything unlimited. Now we learn that, unlike in Apple app store, where apps that are unapproved are not removed from devices, Microsoft will be removing apps from your Windows Mobile phone, if for some reason some app will be unapproved."
