Ontwikkelaar Naughty Dog kennen we recent vooral van de ijzersterke PlayStation 3 game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. De game zag er al ontzettend mooi uit, maar volgens Richard Lemarchand van Naughty Dog gebruiken ontwikkelaars momenteel slechts 30 tot 40 procent van alle kracht van de PlayStation 3. Hij gaf aan dat een nieuwe toolset om te ontwikkelen nog veel meer mogelijk zal maken. Lemarchand:

why we think we're probably only using 30 or 40 percent of the power of
the PS3 right now, and there's this great, untapped potential. Part of
the skill of developing for the PlayStation 3 is getting the GPU to
farm jobs out to the six SPUs - seeing which SPUs are idling and can
take up some of the slack in a frame-to-frame kind of way."
Naughty Dog moet nog onthullen waar ze momenteel aan werken, maar we vermoeden dat een vervolg op Uncharted niet erg ver weg meer zal zijn...
